Who Are the Top DJs in America?

Electronic Dance music has seen massive increases in popularity over the last few years.

DJs or disk jockeys are an essential part of promoting and performing EDM at festivals, clubs, and concerts.

We will take a look at some of the top EDM DJs in America.

Skrillex

Sonny John Moore grew up in Los Angeles, CA, and performs as a DJ and music producer. He joined the band From First to Last and released albums with them in 2004 and 2006. He left to pursue his solo career in 2007 and released an album Gypshook in 2009.

He was set to release another solo album but stopped production to perform under the name Skrillex. He released his first album My Name is Skrillex for free on his MySpace page.

Marshmello

Christopher Comstock grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and released remixes online in 2015. He is a DJ, producer, and internet personality. While onstage, he wears a white helmet that resembles a marshmallow. His identity was originally a secret but was confirmed by Forbes in 2017.

He released his first album Joytime in 2016, followed by Joytime II in 2018, Joytime III in 2019, and Shockwave in 2021. He has also recorded with such artists as Khalid, Selena Gomez, Bastille, and Juice Wrld. He also creates gaming and cooking videos on his YouTube channels.

Steve Aoki

Steven Hiroyuki Aoki was born in Miami, FL, and is a DJ as well as a record producer, music programmer, and record executive. He produced records and ran underground concerts out of his apartment, The Pickle Patch while attending the University of California, Santa Barbera.

By his early 20’s he formed a record label Dim Mak in 1996. Since then, he released 7 albums and has worked with numerous top-selling artists such as will.i.am, Lil John, Backstreet Boys, Fall Out Boy, and Iggy Azalea.
